  • Dangers Associated With Energy Drinks Such As Red Bull

Ever wonder what ingredients are responsible for providing your body with energy when you decide to drink an energy drink? Advertisers try to convince the public, that their energy drinks contain a variety of ingredients specifically designed to enhance the body's energy.

However, the reality is that caffeine is the main ingredient in energy drinks that is responsible for providing the energy boost. In fact, most energy drinks contain about twice the amount of caffeine found in carbonated soda drinks. Most consumers are not aware that the caffeine content in energy drinks and commercial coffee beverages is not regulated by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration).

Excess caffeine can cause many symptoms including: nervousness, irritability, anxiety, tremors, muscle twitching, insomnia, headaches, increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, and increased production of stomach acid which can lead to ulcers.

People who attempt to use energy drinks to combat fatigue may feel better temporarily, but then end up paying for it later. Basically, when your body is tired, it needs sleep, and it's not going to function properly until it gets it. Sleep is the only way your body will be able to recharge itself. There are no short cuts here.

People who have a history of seizures, should avoid energy drinks since energy drinks can increase the chances of precipitating seizures in these individuals.

Bottom line is that there is no magic ingredient in energy drinks. Basically, you can save yourself a lot of money and just buy caffeine pills or drink more coffee.
